The BRIDGE Approach: Knowledge, Capacity, and Investment
The European Medical Biotech sector is strategic but faces significant barriers, particularly in emerging ecosystems like Campania and Silesia. BRIDGE directly addresses:
Pillar 1: Data & Strategy (WP2)
Ecosystem Mapping & S3 Roadmaps: Comprehensive mapping of biomanufacturing assets, value chains, and funding mechanisms in Campania (IT) and Silesia (PL), benchmarked against the Catalonian model. This data drives the creation of S3-aligned regional roadmaps for evidence-based policy making (D2.5).
Pillar 2: Building Capacity (WP3)
Skills & Interregional Networking: Launching Interregional Biomanufacturing Interest Groups (IBIGs) to identify and tackle common challenges. Development and piloting of a dedicated online Medical Biotech Skills Training Package (T3.2) and Academia meets Biotech events (T3.3) to overcome the skills gap and foster durable Academia-Industry collaboration.
Pillar 3: Project Pipeline & Funding (WP4)
Accelerating Investment: Integrating biomanufacturing into renowned EIT Health programmes (Jumpstarter T4.3, Connect T4.4), including a challenge-based pilot led by our industry partner Reig Jofre (RJF). This initiative identifies and supports 3 high-potential interregional investment proposals for I3 or other EU funding instruments (D4.4).
